MEET LEIGH HECKMAN - LPC

Who am I?
Leigh Heckman, LPC
Leigh is a licensed professional counselor who graduated from Naropa University’s Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling program. Her contemplative education deeply informs her practice, drawing from both Eastern and Western therapeutic philosophies.
Leigh is passionate about helping clients bridge the gap between mind and body, having taken her own journey from head to heart. She holds space for the open exploration of her clients’ internal landscapes, using somatic awareness and mindful curiosity to tend to unhealed wounds. Her approach is attachment-informed and client-centered, honoring the wisdom of each person’s unique experience.
In her free time, Leigh enjoys creative pursuits, learning about the art of healing, and reconnecting with nature—drawing from the effortless ways the natural world supports our well-being.
My Inner Work: A Glimpse Into the Healing Path I've Walked
Leigh believes that to hold space for deep transformation, she must remain actively engaged in her own healing journey. Over the past two years, she has immersed herself in powerful experiences that have shaped who she is—as a therapist, a guide, and a woman walking the path of soul reclamation.
Here are some of the spaces and trainings that have supported her personal and professional growth and continue to influence her work:
🌿 Sedona Soul Adventure Retreat (2024 – 5 days)
A deep dive into sacred, land-based healing. Through bodywork, breathwork, and sound, Leigh softened long-held patterns and reconnected with the wisdom of the body and Earth.
🖤 Jungian Shadow Work & the Alchemy of Fairytales (2025 – 8-week course)
An intimate encounter with the unconscious through myth, lore, and dreamwork. This journey helped Leigh reclaim exiled parts of the psyche and deepen her capacity to guide others through the sacred terrain of shadow and transformation.
🌬 Life Architect: Somatic Integration in Therapy (2024 – 3-month training)
An in-depth exploration of somatic wisdom, trauma-informed presence, and regulation tools—supporting the integration of body-based practices into therapeutic space.
This inner work is not something Leigh does on the side—it is foundational to how she lives, listens, and holds space. She does not ask her clients to go anywhere she hasn’t been willing to go herself.
It is a privilege to bear witness to your healing journey. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or unresolved trauma, you are not alone. Please contact our intake line at 708-480-2016 to schedule an appointment.
